Official report (Todd)
|
Well, I know you've all been waiting, so here it is.
Short program results: 1. Alexei 2. Kurt 3. Todd 4. Steven 5. Brian O. 6. Emanuael Todd skated to 'Exotica.' 4toe (fall), 3axel, 3lutz. 5.3 5.4 5.3 5.3 5.3 5.4 5.3 5.6 5.7 5.7 5.7 5.7 5.6 5.7 Wore the 'Pity the Child costume. Todd is considering keeping the program after the good showings at Skate Canada and Midwesterns, but we shall see. Although he fell on the quad in the program, he did land a nice quad-double in the warm-up. It's also good to see that even though he missed teh quad, he went on to land the 3axel. Definitely improvement. Mary also heard that Todd was test-driving a new costume in the practice session, but it was too big and he switched back to a t-shirt halfway through the session. |

Offical report (random)

Other random notes: Mary thought that Kurt's technical scores were a bit inflated. It took a long time to clear the ice before Todd took the ice, as many girls wanted to hand him flowers and when they couldn't, they then threw them, thus elongating the time it took to clear the ice. Mary says it was all Brian Orser's fault <g>, as he was the first one to skate and took time to take flowers and give hugs out. Also, it appears that Michelle has exchanged her Eric Clapton short program for 'East of Eden.' I, for one, thought that she needed to exchange her long program, but you can't get everything you want <g>. It remains to be seen, however, if she uses it again at her next eligible event.
Well, that's about it. Interpretive free's are tomorrow night. Until then, Autumn IceSk8ie@aol.com |

Sorry this is so late, but Mary waited to call me until they were kicked out of the bar <g>.
Final results: 1. Alexei Yagudin 2. Kurt Browning 3. Todd Eldredge 4. Brian Orser 5. Emanuel Sandu 6. Steven Cousins First of all, Todd skated wonderfully and was seriously undermarked. Todd landed a 3axel/2toe, 3toe, 3lutz, 3axel. No quad was attempted. He was sporting a new Thirteenth Warrior costume. Am told that it is a hard-to-describe costume, and Mary calls it a "space age warrior costume." It was a shimmery blue vest, goldish multicolored sleeves, and black pants. The program was awesome and he was really into it. The audience was quiet when he skated and he made some new fans, who also questioned the judging. As Todd's marks were read, he was laughing a bit and had a "whatever" look on his face. Even the Alexei fans thought he was undermarked. That's about it! --Autumn IceSk8ie@aol.com |
